Do it Best Corp. member stores are all independently owned and typically carry their own name, but may also include the names Do it Best and Do it center as a part of the store signage. Each store is serviced from one of seven Do it Best Corp. distribution centers around the United States but can also get products directly from the manufacturer. The stores have joined together as part of the Do it Best Corp. cooperative to buy in huge volume to offer you lower prices.

Do it Best Corp. was founded in 1945 as Hardware Wholesalers, Inc. (HWI) in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Our company headquarters is still located in the heartland, but we’ve spread our Midwestern roots around the world! The purpose is simple – combine the buying capacity of many independently owned retailers together in order to help those retailers better serve their local customers by providing great products at great prices. Our stores have a long tradition of providing great service in their local communities, with some established in the mid 1800's! To make sure you are able to shop your favorite local hardware store or home center online, we founded the Do it Best Commerce Company, LLC as a subsidiary of Do it Best Corp. and launched doitbest.com, “the world’s largest hardware store™” in July 1999. On behalf of our member stores, we feature our entire product offering online for you to do your research, shopping and buying.
